Challock & Molash Gardening Society
Schedule of Events 2020 (so far …)
MARCH Saturday 14th.
A very interesting illustrated talk will be given by our old and valued friend Richard Goodenough. The topic is “Wilderness and the 19th Century Landscape Painters.” Describing how landscape painters from the “old worlds” encountered the wilderness landscapes of the New World (USA and Australia.) How did they capture these magnificent, empty landscapes? What was their technique? Were they successful? The talk will be illustrated by the work of several landscape painters, some of whom came from England to encounter these huge horizons.
APRIL Saturday 4th.
Our own Super Spring Show in Molash village hall. Classes for bulbs, flowers, baking etc. tba. Buffet, booze & raffle of course. Also, membership fees of £5.00 pp for 2020-2021 will be due. A short AGM to be held.
MAY Saturday 16th.
Another very interesting, and unusual, talk booked. Laura Brady from The Wonky Parsnip will show how she farms 1.5 acres in Chartham to produce weird and wonderful vegetables, squash, herbs etc. Laura promises (threatens?) to bring along some of the weird stuff to view and taste. A visit to the farm with a light lunch may also be on the cards. Come, enjoy.
